New 'Military Leadership' Training Module Launches on Army+

A two-module course called 'Military Leadership' has been introduced on the Army+ platform. It was developed by the Military Leadership Development Directorate of the Main Personnel Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in partnership with instructors teaching Military Leadership at higher military educational institutions and the Psychological Support Directorate of the Joint Forces Operation.

Accessible through the Learning section of Army+, the course offers theoretical materials, real-world examples, and interviews. These resources are designed to help service members grasp the fundamentals of military leadership, understand how it differs from civilian leadership, and recognize the importance of building trust, maintaining discipline, and managing personnel. Participants will also learn how to make decisions and take responsibility for them, motivate subordinates, delegate authority, and provide constructive feedback.

Course Topics

Additionally, the curriculum covers:

  • sustaining morale;
  • team development;
  • identifying and addressing destructive leadership.

Currently, Army+ hosts 27 training courses for military personnel. The application’s functionality is developed and maintained by the Center for Scaling Technological Solutions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The launch of the 'Military Leadership' course marks a significant step in enhancing the professional skills of service members, as leadership in the military carries unique demands and nuances. Such initiatives not only foster professional growth but also strengthen the morale of troops—a critical factor given today’s challenges. The availability of educational resources on the Army+ platform further underscores the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s commitment to integrating innovative technologies into training processes to improve military unit effectiveness.

In addition to the newly launched 'Military Leadership' course, the Army+ platform has previously offered valuable training, such as an anti-corruption program that benefited 11,000 soldiers. These initiatives reflect the commitment to enhancing the skills and integrity of military personnel, addressing critical areas essential for effective service in today's complex environment.
