A terrible event occurred in India: a 20-day-old girl was found alive, buried under a layer of dirt. She is currently in intensive care, where doctors are trying to save her. This was reported by "Glavkom" based on BBC information.

The child was accidentally discovered by a local shepherd, who heard a weak cry from underground. After realizing it was a baby, the man called the villagers, who notified the police. The law enforcement officers rescued the girl and took her to the hospital.

Pollution and infection threaten life

Doctor Rajesh Kumar stated that the girl's condition is very serious. She was in dirt, with breathing issues, as soil got into her mouth and nose. The baby's body had insect bite marks and possible animal attack. Initially, her condition improved, but then worsened due to infection.

“The prognosis is not the best, but we are doing everything possible to save the child,” Kumar emphasized.

The police have launched an investigation to establish the girl's parents.

Traditional biases in India

According to BBC, similar cases in India are often associated with biases, where sons are considered more valuable. Human rights organizations emphasize that girls are often killed, especially in poor families. Despite the ban on determining the child's gender before birth, underground clinics and the killing of newborn girls remain a problem. Millions of women in India are at risk.

Additionally, in Lviv, an investigation has been completed regarding a father who placed his son in danger. The man accidentally left the child on the roof of his car, leading to injuries.

The event in India, where a child found buried underground was managed to be rescued, is a disturbing example of traditional biases and the problem of gender discrimination that still exists in society. At the same time, it serves as a reminder of the importance of fighting for the rights and protection of the most vulnerable members of our society.
