The Iranian regime intensifies persecution of minorities

In Iran, the persecution of minorities is intensifying due to suspicions of disloyalty, which may lead to new protests. Experts from the Institute for the Study of War assert that this could further fuel anti-regime sentiments in the country.

Since the start of the 12-day war with Israel, more than 700 people have been arrested in Iran on charges of espionage, among whom were those whom the authorities consider 'agents of Mossad'. 'Spies' conducted numerous raids across the country targeting members of the Baha'i religious group. As a result, electronics, personal belongings, and religious materials were confiscated.

The intensification of repressions against minorities is taking place against the backdrop of growing tensions in the region and internal political instability in Iran.

The intensification of persecution against minorities in Iran poses a threat of further deepening the anti-regime atmosphere in the country, which could lead to serious socio-political consequences.
