On Sunday, August 17, mass protests took place in Israel organized by the Hostage Families Forum. Participants demanded the return of the captives and pressured the government. About 100 thousand people took part in the march and joined the main rally, participating in protests alongside organizations, municipalities, and universities across the country.
Police detained at least 25 participants who blocked roads and demanded the release of hostages and an end to the war with Hamas. Prime Minister Netanyahu expressed readiness to consider a partial ceasefire in Gaza in exchange for an agreement on the release of hostages.
Protests also took place in many other cities across Israel, including Tel Aviv, Haifa, Jerusalem, and others, where thousands took to the streets to express their disagreement with Netanyahu's decision regarding control over Gaza.
