In the city of Obukhiv in the Kyiv region, the creation of an Active Park is planned – a modern multifunctional space that will combine sports, recreation, and cultural leisure. This park will be located in the northern part of the city, in a green area that has long remained unused. The project envisages the creation of a safe and comfortable environment for residents to relax, with modern infrastructure.
The implementation of the project is carried out in partnership with the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, in cooperation with the urban bureau Big City Lab, the city development office Urban Reform, and the street culture platform Street Culture. According to Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleba, active parks are an important element in community development that fosters communication and strengthens social cohesion. The concept of the Active Park provides for various types of activities, from sports to relaxing by the water and cultural events.
“Active parks are an important component of community development. Active parks create spaces for communication, development, and relaxation, helping people feel that life goes on and strengthening community cohesion. It is important that we consistently develop this concept, integrate it into the recovery of affected communities, and promote it in frontline regions.”
The opening of the Active Park in Obukhiv is scheduled for spring 2026. The project is being implemented as part of the President of Ukraine's program 'Active Parks,' in cooperation with the Kyiv Regional State Administration and the Obukhiv City Council together with the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine.
The creation of the Active Park in Obukhiv is an important step toward improving quality leisure and entertainment for city residents. This project will benefit the community, expand opportunities for active leisure, and promote a healthy lifestyle and social interaction among people.
