Правоохоронці Одеси викрили мережу фіктивних шлюбів для іноземців вартістю 4 тисячі доларів за церемонію.

Sham Marriage Network Dismantled by Authorities

Police in Odesa have shut down a criminal group that arranged fraudulent marriages for foreigners seeking to illegally cross the border and gain legal status in Ukraine. This scheme provided clients with a path to obtain temporary residence permits, enabling them to cross the border freely and stay in the country legally.

According to information released by Ukraine's National Police and published by the outlet 'Glavcom', the group consisted of three individuals: two women, aged 41 and 36, and a 49-year-old man. The network orchestrated sham marriages between foreign nationals and women from Odesa. The cost for these services ranged from $2,000 to $4,000 USD.

Investigation Results and Crackdown on Illegal Immigration

As a result of the operation, law enforcement successfully uncovered this channel for illegal border crossing. The group's members have been formally notified of suspicion, and their activities have been halted. This case highlights the ongoing efforts to combat illegal immigration and protect Ukraine's state borders. Such schemes are a persistent challenge for nations worldwide, exploiting legal loopholes for illicit residency.

This incident demonstrates the efforts of the Ukrainian authorities in fighting organized crime and illegal immigration, which remains a pressing issue for the country.

Countering such schemes not only contributes to border security but also protects the rights of citizens who can become victims of exploitation. Law enforcement continues to work on identifying and dismantling similar criminal groups, indicating a systematic approach to resolving this problem.
