Starting this October, Ukrainian refugees in the Netherlands will have to pay more for accommodation in shelters. The cost will rise from 105 euros to 244 euros per month, which is more than a twofold increase.

“Thus, the country's government aims to narrow the gap between those seeking asylum and Ukrainian refugees”

The Minister for Asylum and Migration, Mona Keizer, explained that the additional funds collected from Ukrainian refugees will be used to cover the operational costs of shelters, such as gas, water, and electricity.

The changes will affect both single Ukrainians and families. Starting in October, the payment amount for singles will increase from 105 euros to 244 euros per month. Families with two children can expect a bill of up to 488 euros, but this amount may vary depending on each family's situation.

Additionally, two more European countries will tighten control over the admission of Ukrainians.

Ukrainian refugees in the Netherlands will have to pay more for accommodation in shelters, which will become a significant financial burden for both individuals and families with children. The increase in expenses is related to the need to cover operational costs and the overall desire to reduce the disparity in living conditions among different categories of refugees.
