In early July, satellite images showed signs of possible restoration of Donetsk Airport, reported the Telegram channel Military Journal. Changes in the aerodrome area may indicate the beginning of construction works, as fortification structures have already been filled in, which may suggest preparations for the re-use of the runway. Construction activity has also been identified at the site of former parking lots; it is possible that a fuel technical base is being built in this area. However, it remains unclear whether these works are related to the construction of military infrastructure. Additionally, signs of launches of Russian strike drones from the airport in Donetsk were observed.
On July 25, explosions were recorded on video in temporarily occupied Donetsk. After the explosions, smoke rose over the city. New water supply schedules were introduced in the specified area: in Donetsk and Makeevka, water is supplied once every three days, while in Khartsyzsk, Ilovaisk, and Zugres – once every two days. Politician Oleg Tsarev expressed his outrage over the state of water supply, noting that water is supplied to the city only once every three days, causing domestic problems.
Latest news about Donetsk Airport and explosions in the city indicate the continued tense situation in the region. The restoration of the airport may indicate intentions to strengthen military presence, while the explosions and water supply issues remind of the dangers and life difficulties that arise in the conflict zone.
