In Oleksandriia, located in Kirovohrad Oblast, the cost of bus trips will be raised from November 9: the maximum fare within the city will be 22 hryvnias. The maximum price to Oleksandriiskyi will rise to 30 hryvnias, and to Holovkivka to 35 hryvnias. This was reported by Suspilne, citing the head of the city council's economic department, Rostyslav Cherevashko.
Transportation in Oleksandriia: new rates from November 9, 2026
The decision was made by the executive committee of the city council on November 3. The maximum cost of one trip will change as follows:
-
Oleksandriia: from 18 to 22 UAH, an increase of 4 UAH, or 22.2%.
-
Oleksandriiskyi: from 25 to 30 UAH, an increase of 5 UAH, or 20%.
-
Holovkivka: from 30 to 35 UAH, an increase of 5 UAH, or 16.7%.
These are maximum tariffs. Carriers may set a lower fare, explained the official.
For a passenger who travels within the city twice a day for 22 working days, costs at the maximum tariff will rise from 792 to 968 UAH per month. The difference will be 176 UAH. For similar trips to Oleksandriiskyi or Holovkivka, additional expenses will reach 220 UAH.
Carriers asked for more: from 29 to 31 UAH on urban routes and 36–38 UAH to Oleksandriiskyi and Holovkivka. After checking the calculations and reviewing by a special commission, the executive committee approved lower amounts. The increase in fuel costs also became the reason for the increase in bus fares in Lviv Oblast.
Bus fares: why they were revised in the fall of 2026
According to Cherevashko, fuel accounts for 55–65% of the fare in urban transportation. When carriers submitted their requests, diesel cost 95–99 UAH per liter, and as of November 4, its price rose to approximately 105 UAH.
The servicing of buses has also become more expensive. The official provided the following examples: a wheel used to cost 7,500 UAH, now it costs 12,800 UAH. The price of a battery increased from 5,000–5,500 UAH to about 11,500 UAH, while the costs of belts doubled.
At the same time, the economic department discovered outdated figures regarding mileage and the number of routes in the calculations. Carriers had also included varying profitability, from 7.5% to 15%. According to the calculation with diesel at 104.41 UAH per liter and 15% profitability, the city fare would be 23 UAH.
«I do not rule out that carriers may request a review of the fare again if fuel prices continue to rise,» noted Rostyslav Cherevashko.
The previous fare increase in Oleksandriia occurred in April 2026. Currently, the approved maximum prices are 22, 30, and 35 UAH depending on the direction. A possible new request from carriers does not automatically mean an increase in transportation fares: calculations must be verified and the decision made by the executive committee.
