During the landscaping of the National Historical and Ethnographic Preserve 'Pereyaslav', an ancient Polish coin was discovered. The preserve reported this, as informed by 'Glavkom'.

Employees uprooted a large fir tree in the courtyard of the preserve's administration when they discovered the ancient coin. The found coin was identified as a Polish 'pultorak', a silver coin with a denomination of 1.5 groszy, minted in 1625. The coin features a five-part coat of arms under a crown and an inscription in Latin. The found coin is contemporaneous with the Pereyaslav Cossack regiment, established in the same year.

This discovery reminds us that the cultural layers of the central part of Pereyaslav conceal a unique heritage from the 10th to the 18th century. They need to be protected from destruction as emphasized by the preserve's scientists.

The silver 'pultorak' will enrich the numismatic collection of the museum. It is also worth mentioning that archaeologists discovered a hidden ancient palace near Rome, dating back to the 9th-13th centuries, and fighters of the 123rd Territorial Defense Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces found an amphora at a burial site from the 6th-5th centuries BC in the Mykolaiv region.

In Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyi, during the landscaping of the territory of the National Historical and Ethnographic Preserve, an ancient Polish coin 'pultorak' from 1625 was found. This interesting discovery is a reminder of the rich history of the city and its cultural heritage that needs to be preserved for future generations.
