Today, August 26, cloudy weather with sunny spells is expected in Ukraine, with brief showers in some regions. This is reported by 'Glavkom' referring to 'Ukrhydrometcenter'.
In the northern part, brief showers and possible thunderstorms are expected during the day in Cherkasy, Poltava, and Kharkiv regions, while the rest of the regions will be dry. The air temperature in the western and northern regions at night will be 7-12°C, during the day 15-20°C; in the rest of the territory at night 10-15°C, during the day 21-26°C.
The wind will blow from the southwest and west at a speed of 7-12 m/s, with gusts possible up to 15-20 m/s in the northeast during the day.
It is worth noting that for Ukrainian gardeners and agrarians, spring frosts have led to catastrophic consequences. This is reported by 'Glavkom' referring to an interview with the director of Green Technology Ltd, Dmytro Ostapenko, about the EastFruit project.
It is noted that as a result of the night frosts that lasted from April 7 to 13, about 90% of the peach harvest was destroyed, leading to millions in losses and questioning the economic viability of the season. During the coldest night, the temperature in the garden dropped to -6.6°C, which was fatal for peach flowers in full bloom.
At the end of April, Ukrainian gardeners faced negative consequences from night frosts, which caused significant damage to the peach harvest. This led to serious problems for the industry and put the economic viability into question.
