The Ukrainian authorities are preparing to annul the order of the Ministry of Education and Science No. 1112 on distance learning. This was reported by Mykhailo Fedorov, who is due to head the relevant department in the new government.

Fedorov stated that this decision is intended to return students to learning in schools, where their safety is guaranteed. He emphasized: 'We will cancel, for example, order No. 1112, which has caused a lot of discussions among deputies. We need to find ways to return children to schools and compensate for lost knowledge.'

Problems associated with the order of the Ministry of Education and Science

  • Coercion to choose a school based on residence

The new rules limit the ability of displaced children to choose an educational institution, which may become a source of stress and complicate their adaptation.

  • Restrictions on online learning

The document establishes limits on the number of students in a distance class, which violates legal requirements and complicates access to education in various regions.

  • Complications for students from occupied territories

Children from occupied territories need written permission from parents for distance learning, which may increase risks for their families in conditions of occupation.

  • Danger for students in conflict zones

The requirement for students to be present in schools with fortified premises may put students in conflict zones at risk of safety.

Meanwhile, 'Defense of Ukraine' lessons have already been introduced for teenagers.

After the discussion of the order of the Ministry of Education and Science No. 1112, the new Ukrainian government plans to cancel this document in order to ensure safe learning for children in schools. In addition, new subjects that will become part of the curriculum for teenagers are already being introduced.
