The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has begun a public discussion on the updated State Standard for Primary Education. According to the ministry's information, the current standard was adopted in 2018 but requires revision at least once every 8-10 years.

The new version of the standard includes a number of innovative elements that contribute to the improvement of the educational process. Among them:

1. For the first time, the competency potential of each educational area has been defined. This will help teachers better select learning materials and set clear goals.

2. Requirements for learning outcomes have been aligned, and benchmarks for assessment have been introduced, which will facilitate effective planning of the educational process.

3. Linguistic and cultural diversity, as well as the needs of children with developmental features, are taken into account in the context of implementing inclusive education.

4. A connection between all levels of education has been ensured to create a unified educational trajectory for the child.

5. The standard is based on practical aspects and systematizes existing approaches to teaching.

The discussion of the project will last until August 28, 2025.

The updated State Standard for Primary Education is aimed at implementing innovative approaches to teaching, which will help improve the quality of education and ensure the development of each child according to their needs and capabilities.
