Pensions for Chernobyl victims are increasing: new minimum payment amounts from 2025

The Pension Fund of Ukraine has updated the pension provision conditions for liquidators of the Chernobyl disaster and residents of contaminated areas. Now they can receive state and additional pensions under improved conditions.



'Individuals who worked or lived in radioactive contaminated areas have the right to pension entitlement with a reduction in pension age from one to 13 years', - reported the Pension Fund.


As of March 1, 2025, minimum pension amounts for individuals with disabilities related to the Chernobyl disaster have been selected:




  • Group I disability - 8,839.03 UAH

  • Group II disability - 7,071.36 UAH

  • Group III disability and children with disabilities - 5,450.85 UAH



Liquidators of the Chernobyl disaster will also receive increased minimum pension payments:




  • Group I disability - 14,308.46 UAH

  • Group II disability - 11,446.77 UAH

  • Group III disability - 8,585.08 UAH



In addition to pensions, Chernobyl victims can also access social benefits, including reimbursements for housing and communal services and prescribed medications.



The adjusted pension provision conditions for those affected by the Chernobyl disaster include improved conditions for receiving state and additional pensions, as well as increased minimum pension payments for liquidators and individuals with disabilities related to the disaster.
