Health Screening for Those Aged 40 and Over
More than 830,000 people across Ukraine have taken part in the 40+ Health Screening program. Designed to catch potential health risks before symptoms appear, this initiative enables early intervention and better management of diseases. The program is open to everyone aged 40 and above.
To join the screening, individuals must apply via the Diia app or at a local Administrative Service Center (CNAP). Once registered, participants receive funding on a special card to cover the costs of their medical examinations. It’s crucial to complete the screening within two months of receiving the funds; otherwise, unused money will be returned to the state budget.
Why This Screening Matters
Family doctor Tetiana Baida highlights how this screening differs from a routine doctor’s visit:

This underscores the importance of timely check-ups to maintain good health. Some may wonder, 'I already see my family doctor regularly—why should I participate in this screening?' However, joining the program significantly increases the chances of spotting illnesses early, often before they become apparent during a standard consultation.
The 40+ Health Screening is a key public health initiative aimed at improving overall wellness in Ukraine by detecting diseases at their earliest stages, thereby boosting the likelihood of successful treatment. The program is free and easily accessible, encouraging more people to take proactive steps toward their health. As preventive healthcare gains momentum worldwide, this effort represents a vital component of Ukraine’s healthcare system modernization.
