Chicken egg prices have risen again in Ukraine
Over the past year, chicken egg prices have increased by 50.9%, reported the State Statistics Service. Currently, the average price of eggs in supermarkets ranges from 4.49 to 5.49 hryvnias each.
Experts explain the price increase by seasonal factors. According to the executive director of the Association of Poultry Farmers of Ukraine, Serhiy Karpenko, the increased demand for industrial eggs coincides with the period of falling temperatures.
'During the autumn-winter period, egg production in households traditionally decreases, leading to increased prices for producers,' said Karpenko.
The expert also noted that future price dynamics for eggs will depend on the cost of production components (feed, energy, logistics) and demand. Both further price increases and decreases are possible.
