Ukraine is abandoning centralized heating. This was reported by the press center of the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, as conveyed by 'Khvlya'. A large-scale reform of the heating system is underway aimed at transitioning to individual solutions for each building.

The authorities explain this initiative by stating that the current centralized heating system has proven to be ineffective. Old pipelines, significant heat losses, and frequent breakdowns lead to high payments for low-quality services. The government has already approved a draft law for the implementation of individual heating points (IHPs) in every building.

Essence of individual heating points

Individual heating points (IHPs) are modern technological equipment installed directly in the building. The system automatically controls the supply of heat and hot water, adapting to the needs of the residents.

Main advantages of IHPs:

  • regulation of heat supply depending on weather conditions and consumption;

  • elimination of problems with overheating or underheating rooms;

  • ability to control expenses and receive lower bills;

  • transparent payment system only for the resources actually consumed.

Expected results for residents

Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration Olexiy Kuleba emphasizes that the innovations aim to increase energy efficiency and improve quality of life. Residents will receive:

  • real savings due to accurate consumption accounting;

  • stable temperature in rooms;

  • reduced overall energy consumption and heat losses;

  • clear billing system.

Experts believe that autonomous heating systems will give people more control over utility expenses, eliminate overpayments for technical losses, and ensure a comfortable microclimate in the premises.

Previously, it was reported how to avoid overpayments for gas.

Ukraine is transitioning to individual heating, increasing comfort and energy efficiency of residential buildings and allowing residents to manage their heating expenses. This decision will contribute to reducing costs and improving the quality of services in the heating industry.
