Updates to Ukraine’s Driving Theory Exam
In Ukraine, candidates can now take the theoretical driving test in either Ukrainian or English. This new option is specifically designed for foreigners and stateless individuals legally residing in the country. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has broadened language options at its service centers to make the theory exam more accessible to international residents.
The exam consists of 20 questions to be completed within 20 minutes, with a maximum allowance of two mistakes. These conditions remain consistent with previous regulations. Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Vyhivskyi emphasized that
“the translated test questions fully comply with the current traffic rules. All other exam conditions remain unchanged: 20 questions, 20 minutes for completion, and no more than two errors allowed.”
How to Register for the Test
Applicants have several registration options:
- Foreigners can register online through the E-Booking website.
- Registration is also available via a mobile app, downloadable from the App Store and Google Play.
- Offline registration can be done at self-service terminals located inside Ministry of Internal Affairs service centers.
Ivan Vyhivskyi highlighted that
“we continue to enhance the accessibility and user-focus of public services.”
This language accommodation marks a significant step toward integrating foreign nationals into Ukrainian society. By removing language barriers, it supports greater mobility and easier adaptation for those who do not speak Ukrainian. Offering the test in multiple languages reflects the government’s commitment to providing equal opportunities for all individuals seeking to obtain a driver’s license in Ukraine.
