Official Ceremony for the New Ukrposhta Stamp
Ukraine marked a significant event with the special cancellation of a new Ukrposhta stamp titled "Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: Steel Strength and Unyielding Will." This ceremony coincided with the Logistics Specialists Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, observed annually on October 11 since 2023.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces announced the event on Telegram. Envelopes bearing the new stamp were canceled using a distinct postmark. The ceremony featured notable participants, including:
- Colonel Yuriy Pohrebny
- Hero of Ukraine Colonel Yevhen Sydorenko
- Colonel Vitaliy Ryabov
- Major Ihor Simutin
The stamp artwork highlights key aspects of military logistics. It is important to note that this issue is limited in quantity and will not be reprinted.
During his address, Colonel Yuriy Pohrebny emphasized the critical role logistics plays in military success:
“Logistics rarely draws attention. It operates quietly and behind the scenes, yet it empowers our soldiers to confront the enemy effectively. This stamp honors those who repair, supply, transport, and daily return equipment to the frontline.” – Colonel Yuriy Pohrebny
He also explained recent advances in equipment repair processes: “Today, every hryvnia counts. Not long ago, a Humvee headlight cost nearly 50,000 hryvnias, and waiting for a hood could take months. Now, the Logistics Forces’ repair units produce needed parts in-house using 3D printers with plastic and metal materials. This method reduces costs by 20 to 40 times compared to imported components, enabling faster and more affordable equipment restoration.”
A Tribute to Military Logistics Professionals
This new stamp symbolizes the vital work of military logisticians who ensure the army’s operational efficiency amid modern challenges. Alongside the stamp release, updates were shared about other key developments within the Armed Forces, including a contract for 40,000 NATO-standard tactical headsets, the establishment of a drone systems management unit, and initiatives focused on saving servicemen’s lives.
The special cancellation event highlights the indispensable role of logistics in sustaining Ukraine’s military capabilities, especially during wartime.
