Introduction of a state of emergency in the energy sector
A state of emergency has been introduced in Ukraine's energy sector, granting the authorities expanded powers to respond to the crisis. The announcement of this regime was made by President Volodymyr Zelensky. The state of emergency will act in cases where there is a threat to the stable operation of Ukraine's integrated energy system (IES).
Rules and measures under the state of emergency

Importantly, this regime does not restrict the constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will ensure maximum deregulation of the processes of connecting backup energy equipment to the grid. This aims to facilitate and accelerate processes that may help stabilize the energy situation.
At present, the most difficult situation is observed in Kyiv, Kyiv region, Odesa region, and Dnipro, where emergency network restrictions are already in place. The authorities are calling for balanced energy consumption and are ready to take necessary measures to ensure the stability of the energy system.
