В Україні запроваджено надзвичайний стан в енергетичному секторі: які нові повноваження отримали органи влади.

Introduction of a state of emergency in the energy sector

A state of emergency has been introduced in Ukraine's energy sector, granting the authorities expanded powers to respond to the crisis. The announcement of this regime was made by President Volodymyr Zelensky. The state of emergency will act in cases where there is a threat to the stable operation of Ukraine's integrated energy system (IES).

Rules and measures under the state of emergency

Under the state of emergency, the authorities have the right to create coordination headquarters and involve state structures for rapid response to challenges in the energy sector. Importantly, this regime does not restrict the constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will ensure maximum deregulation of the processes of connecting backup energy equipment to the grid. This aims to facilitate and accelerate processes that may help stabilize the energy situation.

At present, the most difficult situation is observed in Kyiv, Kyiv region, Odesa region, and Dnipro, where emergency network restrictions are already in place. The authorities are calling for balanced energy consumption and are ready to take necessary measures to ensure the stability of the energy system.

The introduction of a state of emergency in the energy sector is due to the critical situation in the country, where problems with electricity supply are already being observed in several regions. This step will allow for a faster response to challenges and ensure energy stability, which is especially important in the face of increasing risks to infrastructure.

The authorities emphasize the necessity of rational electricity consumption, which can help improve the situation in the energy market.
