Growth of electric vehicles and hybrids in Ukraine
Ukraine is experiencing an increase in the number of electric vehicles and hybrids. As of the beginning of 2025, over 38,000 electric vehicles and around 19,700 hybrids are registered in the country. This indicates a gradual implementation of eco-friendly vehicles that align with modern trends in sustainable development.
Kyiv, as the capital, is the leader in the number of registered electric vehicles and hybrids. The city has nearly 6,800 hybrids and over 6,500 electric vehicles. A significant number of electric cars can also be found in the Western region of Ukraine, where more than 13,500 electric vehicles and 4,700 hybrids are registered. Central Ukraine also shows positive dynamics with over 6,700 electric cars and 2,800 hybrids.
Regional data
The Eastern region, although having a smaller number, still shows significant figures with over 6,000 electric vehicles and about 2,000 hybrids. In the South and North of Ukraine, a total of over 7,400 electric vehicles and about 4,000 hybrids are registered. These data indicate a growing interest among Ukrainians in eco-friendly modes of transport, which can positively affect the environment.
The growth of popularity of electric vehicles and hybrids in Ukraine reflects a global trend towards more eco-friendly transport. This may be the result of not only changes in consumer preferences but also the active efforts of the state to stimulate the introduction of ecological technologies, such as lowering taxes on electric vehicles and developing infrastructure for charging stations. The continuation of this trend may contribute to the reduction of pollutant emissions and improve air quality in cities.
