Ukrainians are actively buying vegetables before autumn arrives, when prices fall. Potatoes, cabbage, and onions are the main types of vegetables used for winter storage. They not only have a long shelf life but are also important for cooking various dishes.
At the end of August 2025, there is some instability in vegetable prices in Ukraine. For example, potatoes can be purchased for an average of 18.90 UAH per kilogram, while young potatoes cost 21.61 UAH per kilogram.
Potatoes remain one of the most affordable vegetables for bulk purchases. In supermarkets, regular potatoes can be purchased for an average of 18.90 UAH per kilogram. Young potatoes will be more expensive for buyers - on average 21.61 UAH per kilogram.
Interestingly, compared to July, potato prices have almost halved. Cabbage shows a more stable price dynamics, while onions have the largest price variation among the vegetables considered.
With the arrival of autumn, a decrease in prices for popular vegetables such as potatoes, cabbage, and onions is observed in Ukraine. This will encourage Ukrainians to stock up for winter and prepare delicious dishes at affordable prices.
