Government Support Available Online for Pregnant Women and Parents of Infants
Pregnant women and parents of newborns have the option to apply for two state financial benefits through the Diia online platform. These include a pregnancy and childbirth allowance, as well as child care support for children up to one year old. The pregnancy and childbirth benefit provides 7,000 hryvnias monthly and is available to pregnant women who are not covered by mandatory state social insurance.
The child care allowance for children under one year is also set at 7,000 hryvnias per month. Families raising children with disabilities qualify for a higher monthly payment of 10,500 hryvnias. Once an application is submitted via the Diia portal, it is processed through the Unified Information System of the Social Sphere, which automatically gathers necessary data from government registries to generate a decision. This decision is then reviewed and approved by an official from the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
How to Apply and Check Your Benefit Status
Applicants can also submit documents in person at Pension Fund service centers, administrative service centers (CNAP), or through authorized representatives of local communities. For inquiries about application status, payments, or special accounts managed by the Pension Fund of Ukraine, individuals can call 0 800 503 753.
Soon, a pilot beta test of a new benefit program for working parents called 'єЯсла' will begin. This update was announced by the Pension Fund of Ukraine and the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine.
Applying for benefits through the Diia portal streamlines access to essential state support for pregnant women and parents, which is especially valuable amid today’s challenges. With initiatives like 'єЯсла,' the government aims to strengthen assistance for families raising children, including those with special needs. These programs have the potential to positively influence Ukraine’s demographic trends and enhance social support for families nationwide.
