In Lviv, 33-year-old Anna Golub gave birth to twins, although she was already raising five children. The pregnancy was a surprise for the family and posed a challenge for doctors due to its nature - a monochorionic twin pregnancy, where the fetuses share a common placenta, reports 'Glavkom'.
The couple did not plan for an addition, as they were already raising children aged from 9 to 15. Anna found out about the pregnancy after experiencing a decline in her health at work and undergoing an ultrasound examination.
“I was just speechless. My husband was very happy. I think if it depended on him, he would want 12 children,” Anna said.
Doctors determined that this was a monochorionic twin pregnancy, which increases the risk of complications such as blood supply disturbances or premature births. During ultrasound monitoring, issues with blood supply to one of the fetuses were detected.
Throughout the entire pregnancy, the woman and the children were under constant medical supervision. A planned cesarean section was performed at 37 weeks. Two girls were born - Evelina and Julian, who received high marks for their health condition.
“Everything went very smoothly... I am sincerely grateful to the entire team,” the mother expressed her gratitude.
The delivery took place at St. Anna Hospital in Lviv. Currently, the condition of the mother and the newborns is satisfactory. The Golub family now raises seven children.
