Cases of the High Anti-Corruption Court

The High Anti-Corruption Court (VAKS) has examined the status of Ihor Myroniuk in the case of corruption at 'Energoatom'. The court clarified that Myroniuk was never an advisor to the Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko. During the hearing, Judge Ihor Strohyi noted that the lawyers presented documents confirming this information.

VAKS also discussed the request of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) to extend the terms of the pre-trial investigation in this case. Strohyi emphasized that there are documents indicating that Ihor Myroniuk did not have the status of an advisor, either in the Ministry of Justice or the Ministry of Energy.

“I ask you to comment on whether the defense is manipulating this or if you have not properly verified something,” said Judge Ihor Strohyi.

Furthermore, VAKS denied Mindich and Tsukerman's request to participate in the court hearing via video link. The representative of the prosecution also noted that the status of an advisor could be granted not only on a permanent basis but also through oral powers of attorney. At present, the pre-trial investigation body is checking the relevant circumstances concerning this case.

Fight against corruption in Ukraine

This case is part of a broader fight against corruption in Ukraine, which has received particular attention from state authorities and the international community. An important component of this process is verifying the statuses of individuals involved in corruption schemes, as well as ensuring legal procedures are followed during the investigation. Given that the investigation is ongoing, further court decisions may significantly impact the case's development and the reputation of those involved.
