Act of vandalism at the burial site of a soldier in Radivyliv

In Radivyliv, Rivne region, an act of vandalism was committed at the grave of the fallen soldier Nazariy Tartachnyy, who died in December 2024 in Kharkiv region. This was reported by the local city council on its Facebook page, as noted by 'Hlavkom'.

The mother of the fallen soldier, Valentyna Tartachna, spoke about the incident: 'I was shocked by what I saw. From my son's grave, the flower pots have disappeared again, a candle was stolen from the lantern. Someone was digging at the grave. Who could have the heart to do this? I want to look into the eyes of the one who could dare to do such a thing? After all, my son gave the dearest thing he had for the defense of Ukraine, his life,' she wrote.

The mother also appealed to possible witnesses of the event for any information. She noted that the disappearance occurred on August 16 between 12:00 and 18:30.

The police confirmed the fact of vandalism and stated that the incident has been registered. Currently, law enforcement officers are working to identify the perpetrator.

Previous incidents

It is reminded that in Rivne, unknown individuals desecrated the grave of fallen defender Taras Davydyuk. Vandals smashed the lantern, stole the light intended for it, as well as six other decorative lanterns.

And in Bucha in June, a case of vandalism was recorded at the local cemetery – at least ten gravestones were damaged. The incident occurred at the cemetery located on Antoniy Mykhailovskyi Street.

Incidents of vandalism at the burial places of soldiers and defenders in Ukraine are becoming more frequent. Vandals show no respect for the monuments to the fallen, which is a serious violation of public morals and traditions. It is necessary to take measures to prevent such acts and ensure the safety of the resting places of heroes.
