The Secretary General of the Congress of the Council of Europe, Mathieu Mori, visited Kyiv to express his support for the Ukrainian people in light of Russian attacks on the country. The meeting was timely, and Ukrainians felt the solidarity and support of European partners.
The Congress of the Council of Europe continues to support Ukraine in strengthening local self-government, especially in the context of decentralization. The international registry of damages also reflects a significant volume of needs among the population affected by the conflict, which will allow mechanisms for compensation to be developed for residents. Attention is undoubtedly paid to frontline regions, where communities are provided with support and tools for recovery after shelling.
“Joint work with the Council of Europe and support from Mathieu Mori is extremely important for Ukraine during this difficult time.”
