The Polish parliament has approved a tough reform of road legislation, which provides for stricter liability for drivers for dangerous behavior on the roads. According to the new rules, drivers who participate in illegal races, drifting, perform stunts on motorcycles, or drive over 210 km/h on the highway can face from three months to five years of imprisonment.

In parallel, the legislation provides for the confiscation of vehicles for serious offenses and even a lifetime ban on driving for drivers with serious violations. The new rules will come into effect only a month after approval, which indicates the seriousness of the Polish authorities' intentions to combat dangerous behavior on the roads.
