In the USA, police have arrested Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old student, suspected of the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Utah Governor Spencer Cox stated that official charges will be filed next week. According to 'Glavcom', citing Reuters.




Robinson was arrested 33 hours after the crime. Law enforcement was contacted by a relative and a family friend, to whom the suspect confessed. Footage from surveillance cameras and data from his Discord profile also aided investigators.




Charlie Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA, was shot once with a rifle from a rooftop during a public event at the University of Utah Valley. The weapon was found near the scene of the incident. Governor Cox called the murder a 'watershed moment in American history'. Shell casings found at the crime scene had writings 'Here is a fascist!' and 'Catch him!'. According to a relative, Robinson became more politically active and expressed animosity towards Kirk and his views.
