Today, September 11, the Vinnytsia City Court imposed a preventive measure of non-alternative detention for 60 days on Oleksiy Ponomaryov, the suspect in the murder of two schoolchildren in Sharhorod. This was reported by Glaсkom with reference to the police of the Vinnytsia region.
Among the main versions, the investigation considers a possible conflict between the former teacher and one of the victims. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
As a reminder, on the morning of September 10, in the city of Sharhorod, located in the Zhmerynka district of the Vinnytsia region, the bodies of two teenagers with knife wounds were found. According to Larisa Bilozir, a member of the Ukrainian Parliament of the IX convocation, the tragedy occurred around 7:30 in the center of the city. According to her, near the hospital, an unknown young man brutally killed two teenagers - students of the 10th and 11th grades, who were heading to school.
On the fact of the murder of two people, investigators are conducting a criminal proceeding provided for by p. 1 part 2 of article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Intentional murder of two or more persons. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of 10 to 15 years or life imprisonment.
According to the order of the mayor of the Sharhorod City Council, September 10 and 11 have been declared mourning days in the community.
