Solomiia Vitvitska and Oleksii Sytailo Tie the Knot
Ukrainian television presenter Solomiia Vitvitska has married serviceman Oleksii Sytailo. Although he proposed a year and a half ago, the couple made the final decision to wed only after learning Vitvitska was pregnant. The intimate ceremony took place in the Zakarpattia region with just ten people in attendance, including the newlyweds. Vitvitska is now expecting her first child, a son.
Navigating Difficult Times and the Significance of Legal Marriage
Vitvitska revealed that people constantly asked when they would get married. However, given the challenging period in Ukraine—marked by war and instability—the pair struggled to decide whether to hold a wedding at all, and if so, what kind. Vitvitska noted that Oleksii himself stated:
“There’s no room to delay. Children should be born into a legal marriage.”
The couple began their relationship in 2024, with the engagement taking place on February 14, 2025, in Bukovel. Before the full-scale war, Sytailo served as the head of a district court in Sumy region; after the conflict erupted, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The wedding planning was spontaneous. Vitvitska recalled that Oleksii made a decisive call:
“We’ll just go on vacation together, just the two of us. We decided to head to Zakarpattia—to celebrate my birthday and, while there, to get married.”
No relatives attended the wedding; only friends were present, including Vitvitska’s friend Lesia Povroznyk and Oleksii’s best man with his family. Vitvitska explained that while they had originally planned for six guests, the number grew to ten:
- There were no relatives at all.
She also shared that 'it’s truly a wonderful memory. I felt beautiful and loved, surrounded by so much warmth, great people, and positive emotions.' The couple found their wedding photographer purely by chance along the way.
