UK's 2026 Eurovision Representative Announced
The United Kingdom has chosen the musician Look Mum No Computer to represent the nation at the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna. He will perform a song titled 'Eins, Zwei, Drei'. The announcement was made live on BBC Radio 2's The Scott Mills Breakfast Show. The selection was finalized by the UK's Eurovision project director, David May, in collaboration with BBC Studios executive producer and head of the UK delegation, Andrew Cartmell.
Look Mum No Computer, who launched his YouTube channel in 2016, has amassed over 85 million views on the platform. His combined social media following exceeds 1.4 million subscribers. The UK's recent Eurovision results have been mixed, making this selection a strategic move to reconnect with audiences. In a statement, the artist expressed his excitement about participating:
"I've always been a huge Eurovision fan and love the magical joy it brings to millions every year. So, the chance to be part of that history and represent the UK is a massive honour for me."
Creative Vision for the Stage
Look Mum No Computer also shared his creative plans: "I've been building my own musical ideas from scratch and documenting the process for years. I'm going to bring all of that creativity to the stage. I hope Eurovision is ready for some synthesizers!"
In related news, Israel will be represented at this year's contest by Noam Bettan with the song 'Michelle', while Romania returns to Eurovision after a three-year absence.
This choice of artist for the 2026 contest underscores the UK's ambition to revitalize its standing on the international music stage. With his unique style and substantial online following, Look Mum No Computer could introduce a fresh approach to the UK's entry, potentially engaging a younger demographic. His participation offers an opportunity not only to showcase his own music but also to elevate the profile of British music across Europe.
