A Major Challenge for Ukraine
This winter Ukraine is outraged by Russian drones, missiles, and constant attacks – it is a real challenge for the country and its citizens. However, in recent months, Ukraine has received support in ensuring energy security through cooperation with Greece. This is very important.
Energy Cooperation with Greece
During a meeting with the President of Greece, Konstantinos Tassoulas, cooperation in the energy sector was discussed, particularly the Ukrainian-Greek gas agreement, which will help us survive the winter. A partnership in joint projects, diplomatic efforts, the need to strengthen sanctions against Russia, and the use of frozen Russian assets were also agreed upon. There was also discussion about the involvement of Greek companies in the reconstruction of Ukraine and joint efforts to return Ukrainian children kidnapped by Russians.
This winter, under Russian drones, missiles, and daily strikes, Ukraine is facing a major challenge. And I am very glad that in recent months we have been working with Greece to conclude agreements to support Ukraine's energy security. And we have a good result.
Today, during our meeting with the President of Greece, Konstantinos Tassoulas, we discussed energy cooperation – specifically the agreement between Ukraine and Greece regarding gas, which will help us survive the winter. We also separately talked about partnership in joint projects, diplomatic efforts, the need to strengthen sanctions against Russia and the use of frozen Russian assets, the involvement of Greek businesses in the recovery of Ukraine, and joint actions to return Ukrainian children kidnapped by Russians.
Support from Greece
Throughout the period of Russian aggression, Greece remains on the side of Ukraine, providing us with essential support. We are grateful for this steadfast alliance and cooperation.
