Ukraine's Parliament Moves to Extend Pensioner Verification Deadline to July 2026

Народні обранці вирішують продовжити термін перевірки пенсіонерів до літа 2026 року.

Pensioner Verification Deadline Extended

The Ukrainian Parliament is preparing to extend the deadline for the physical identification of all categories of pensioners until July 1, 2026. This measure, details of which are published on the government's website, also includes the automatic resumption of payments from January 1, 2026, for those citizens whose pension payments were previously suspended. This process is a key part of Ukraine's ongoing social security reforms.

Service centers of the Ukrainian Pension Fund (PFC) are currently under critical strain due to the mass suspension of payments to pensioners who failed to complete verification by the end of 2025. To avoid long queues, the Ministry of Social Policy recommends using remote methods for identification, such as:

  • online verification using the Diia digital signature;
  • video identification with a fund employee.

Emergency Committee Hearings Scheduled

Emergency hearings in the relevant parliamentary committee are scheduled for February 9, 2026, to finalize decisions and analyze verification errors. Special mechanisms are in place for those residing abroad or in temporarily occupied territories, including:

  • using the personal account on the PFC web portal,
  • sending documents by mail (for those abroad),
  • certifying proof of life at diplomatic missions.

Appointments for in-person visits can also be made via the electronic cabinet or a dedicated hotline.

The extension of the verification deadline until 2026 is a crucial step to ensure the continuity of payments during a period when many citizens face difficulties completing the process. It reflects the state's effort to adapt its social security system to modern challenges and ensure service accessibility for all population groups, including those outside the country. The preparation for emergency committee hearings underscores the seriousness of the situation and the need for a swift response to problems arising during verification.
