Ukraine Establishes Strategic Oil and Fuel Reserve

On March 4, Ukraine's parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, passed a law mandating minimum reserves of oil and petroleum products, creating a national strategic fuel stockpile. This measure requires importers and producers to maintain these reserves, a significant step toward stabilizing the nation's fuel market. This policy is part of broader efforts to bolster energy security, a critical concern for a nation at war.

As of March 4, gasoline prices at some stations were nearing 81 UAH per liter. The cheapest A-95 gasoline was priced at 67.99 UAH per liter at Ukrnafta stations, while Wog stations sold A-95 Euro for 73.99 UAH per liter. At Okko and Socar stations, A-95 cost 70.99 UAH per liter. Premium 100-grade fuel was 78.99 UAH per liter at Wog and 80.99 UAH per liter at Okko and Socar. These figures illustrate a sharp increase in fuel prices across Ukraine.
