Leonid Ryzhak and Lyudmyla had waited three years for the chance to legally marry. Their wedding ceremony was scheduled for the morning of September 8 in Kyiv. Just hours before the event, a Russian attack caused an explosion that damaged their apartment. Yet, the couple refused to cancel their plans and held the ceremony inside the damaged home. They performed a traditional ceremony called the Binding of Fate and Lineage, highlighting their dedication to each other amidst the hardships of war.
