Kyiv's Two-Month Spring Cleanup Targets 120 Sites Across the City

Дводенна весняна акція в Києві охоплює понад сто локацій для покращення екології.

Kyiv's Annual Spring Cleanup Initiative

Kyiv has launched its traditional two-month spring urban improvement campaign, which will cover more than 120 locations across all of the capital's districts. This large-scale effort is a key part of the city's seasonal maintenance, focusing on the sanitary cleaning of over 170 hectares of land, as well as landscaping and repairs to street infrastructure.

Scope of the Planned Work

The campaign's planting plan includes:

  • more than 220 trees;
  • five hundred shrubs;
  • approximately 3,000 flowers.

Special attention will be given to waterfront areas in the Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi, Desnianskyi, Obolonskyi, Podilskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, and Solomianskyi districts. The work involves around 2,000 employees from municipal enterprises, including Kyivzelenbud, Pleso, and other specialized services.

Key events of the two-month period will be a city-wide community cleanup day on April 18 and the '30 Days of City Beautification' competition starting April 1. These initiatives aim to improve the city's ecological health and visual appeal while encouraging active resident participation in caring for their hometown. Engaging citizens in such projects helps foster a stronger sense of community and environmental stewardship.

By launching this spring beautification drive, Kyiv is placing a clear emphasis on enhancing both the environmental conditions and the aesthetic quality of its public spaces. The planned series of events is designed to build momentum and could serve as a catalyst for future urban improvement initiatives in the capital.

As the city gears up for its extensive cleanup efforts, residents are encouraged to participate actively in the beautification process.
