The 'Veteran Sports' program is becoming increasingly popular among Ukrainian defenders. In the third quarter, more than 40 thousand veterans applied for participation in this state support program for sports activities.

The Minister for Veterans Affairs, Natalia Kalmykova, reported this on live television.

The initial success of the program continues. In the first quarter, it was selected by 25 thousand people, of whom 21 thousand have already taken advantage of the opportunity. In the second quarter, even about 50 thousand veterans joined the program.

Participation Procedure and Program Opportunities

Applications are accepted until July 20 inclusive. The submission process has been simplified to be available online.

'To take advantage of the program, you need to go to 'Diya', in the Veteran PRO services section and select 'Veteran Sports'. The system will help you open a card, submit an application, and then the application will be verified, and the funds will be credited to your account,' Kalmykova explained.

The funds received can be used in any of the 492 sports facilities across Ukraine that have joined the program. Participants who have already taken advantage of the program in previous quarters will receive the next payment automatically.

Choice of Sport and Benefits for Veterans

The minister noted that veterans choose a variety of sports: amputee football, sitting volleyball, wheelchair rugby, pétanque, and table tennis.

'In fact, sports is a powerful, multifaceted tool for a person to restore their physical activity, improve mental health, and reconnect with society, starting to communicate with others,' Kalmykova summarized.

The 'Veteran Sports' program is part of a comprehensive state support system for Ukrainian defenders and aims at their rehabilitation and social adaptation through sports activities.

The popularity of the 'Veteran Sports' program among Ukrainian veterans continues to grow, attracting more participants in the third quarter. The program not only allows veterans to engage in sports but also helps restore physical and psychological harmony and promotes their social adaptation and interaction with others.
