A horrific explosion occurred in Mexico when a tanker truck transporting liquefied natural gas exploded, resulting in at least 25 fatalities. The incident happened in Iztapalapa, the most populated area of the city, when the truck veered off the road and crashed into a wall. The gas leak led to a fire that triggered the explosion. According to the Mexico Ministry of Health, 25 people died, and another 21 were hospitalized with injuries.

Local residents expressed their outrage over this tragic incident and criticized the safety of the country's roads, particularly the transportation of hazardous materials and the technical condition of the roads. Regarding the cause of the accident, information about excessive speed and the driver's inadequate management of the truck is being considered, but the investigation is ongoing.

Preliminary investigations by the city authorities indicate speeding and the driver's lack of necessary qualifications as potential causes of the accident. The investigation is ongoing.

We also want to remind that a large chemical fire broke out in Newburgh, Indiana, at the PBTT plant.

The events that took place in Mexico remind us once again of the importance of adhering to safety protocols during the transportation of hazardous materials, as well as the necessity to strengthen the quality control of road surfaces and road conditions. Tragedies of this nature underscore the need for constant oversight and regular checks in the field of road safety to prevent similar horrific events in the future.
