Gas Cylinder Explosion in Osychne Village
A 37-year-old woman died after a gas cylinder exploded in a private home in Osychne village, Vinnytsia region, on the evening of January 23. The blast caused a fire, and emergency responders discovered the woman's body while extinguishing the flames. In Ukraine, many households rely on portable gas cylinders for cooking and heating, especially in rural areas.
Rescue services confirmed the cylinder was positioned near a lit stove, which caused the tragedy. They emphasized that ignoring fire safety rules, particularly concerning the use of gas cylinders and stove heating, is extremely dangerous and can have fatal consequences.

This incident in Vinnytsia follows other recent explosions. On January 21, a man was injured in an apartment blast in a multi-story building in Odesa. Separately, in the city of Slavutych, Kyiv region, an explosion occurred in a fifth-floor apartment of a high-rise building, which was reported to police by a passerby who heard a loud noise.
