On the night of September 7 to 8, a powerful explosion occurred on the main oil pipeline in the Krasnoarmeysky district of the Saratov region of the Russian Federation. The information about the event was disseminated by the publication 'Glavkom', citing 'Ukrinform'.

Local residents reported that the morning after the explosion, rescuers were on-site trying to deal with the aftermath of the incident. This is already the third oil and gas infrastructure facility in Russia to be damaged in the past day.

According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, as a result of the explosion, the operation of the 'Kuibyshev-Lysychansk' pipeline, which supplied petroleum products for the Russian occupying army, was halted. The annual capacity of this facility reached 82 million tons.

It should be noted that on Monday, September 8, the operation of the main oil pipeline system was halted due to a series of explosions in the city of Penza. The fourth facility in the Railway district caused the shutdown of two pipes of the main gas pipeline.

By midday, the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out strikes on Russian refineries and export facilities, which could affect global refining profits in the USA. Moreover, Ukrainian attacks have slowed down the operations of facilities that provide at least 17% of Russia's refining capacity.

Explosions on the oil pipelines in the Saratov region and in the city of Penza caused significant damage to the oil and gas infrastructure and led to the halting of substantial volumes of petroleum product transportation.
