In the Russian city of Penza, a series of explosions has led to the shutdown of the only system of main oil pipelines. According to information from the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, at least four explosions occurred in the railway district of Penza on September 8 around 4 a.m.

Two main gas pipeline pipes with a capacity of 2 million barrels per day have ceased to function, it is reported.

Additionally, two more regional gas pipeline pipes have been damaged in the area. Military facilities that received gas through these pipelines participated in Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

Planned Drills at Energy Enterprises

Following the incident, local media spread reports of 'planned drills' at energy enterprises, where emergency services were involved. Residents were asked not to panic and to ignore speculation about the explosions on social media.

As a result of the series of explosions in Penza, the oil pipelines were disconnected from management, jeopardizing the supply of natural gas to some military facilities in occupied Crimea and eastern Ukraine.
