At the meeting of the Hockey Federation of Ukraine held on June 26, the owner of 'Kepitals' Evgeny Zimin received clear demands that must be met to participate in the Baltic League. The President of the Federation Sergey Mazur set the condition: the club can participate in the foreign tournament only if it also registers its team in the national championship.
Viewing Kepitals in a New Light
In the 2025/26 season, 'Kepitals' will have two teams: one will participate in the Ukrainian championship, and the other will compete in the Baltic League. A certain number of Ukrainian hockey players currently playing in Europe, such as Ivan Sisak, Denis Goncharenko, Bogdan Panasenko, and others, will join the latter.
If wishing to participate in the Baltic League, the 'Kepitals' club will also be required to participate in the national championship of Ukraine. Next season, the team will expand its opportunities, representing Ukrainian hockey both at home and abroad.
