Security Framework for Eurovision 2026
Authorities in Austria have rolled out a comprehensive security system for Eurovision 2026, set to take place in Vienna. As part of preparations for this large-scale event, 250 specialists are engaged in strategic operational planning. The main venue, Wiener Stadthalle, will serve as the focal point, with elevated security measures in place for all attendees.
Protective Measures
To safeguard the arena, modern technologies have been integrated, including a robotic dog and a network of drones. Around 500 security personnel will be on duty daily at the Wiener Stadthalle premises. Additionally, 180 new surveillance cameras have been installed specifically for the event to further enhance security.
Visitor screening at Wiener Stadthalle will involve metal detectors and X-ray scanners, enabling quick detection of prohibited items. A strict no-bag policy has also been implemented within the venue to add another layer of safety. All these efforts are coordinated in partnership with Austria’s Ministry of the Interior and local police.
Organizers have also highlighted the top countries in terms of ticket sales, reflecting strong global interest in the event.
