The situation with the additional restriction of internet access in occupied Crimea is worsening. According to the latest report from the Ukrainian Foreign Intelligence Service, local residents have been informed about the cessation of mobile internet for 'security measures'. However, the real goal of this step is to integrate the peninsula into the Russian system of control and censorship, as well as to isolate it from global information.

According to intelligence data, the situation with internet access restrictions is not unique to Crimea – there has also been an increase in cases of internet shutdowns in Russia. Statistics show that only in July 2025, there were 2099 such cases recorded in Russia, which is an absolute Russian record.

This demonstrates a trend towards increasing censorship and control over information in occupied territories, as well as the escalation of repression against freedom of speech and access to sources of independent information.
