Automatic Deferral Renewal for Individuals with Disabilities in Ukraine

Автоматичне продовження відстрочки для осіб з інвалідністю в Україні

How Automatic Deferral Renewal Works

Ukraine has implemented an automatic renewal system for military service deferrals for individuals with permanent disabilities. This new measure simplifies the process of confirming eligibility, allowing those obligated for service to avoid in-person visits to Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centers (TRSSCs) if all necessary data is already present in state registries. This reform is part of broader efforts to streamline military administration during the ongoing conflict.

Under the new rules, a person's military status is updated automatically, significantly easing the burden for individuals with disabilities. Experts advise periodically checking the accuracy of personal data in the 'Reserve+' application to prevent any potential misunderstandings.

Support for Persons with Disabilities

Vyacheslav Kyryda notes that 'the deferral will be extended automatically in any case.'

According to Yuriy Aivazian, 'the deferral will be automatically renewed every three months.' Furthermore, Yevhen Oleksandrovych emphasized that 'the deferral will be automatically extended for the period of the mobilization extension, up to one year.' These changes are designed to provide additional support for individuals with permanent disabilities during wartime.

The introduction of automatic deferral renewal for those with permanent disabilities is a significant step toward supporting vulnerable groups in Ukraine. This innovation aims to reduce the administrative burden on service-eligible individuals and provide them with greater stability during a difficult period. Automating the process may also help reduce queues and increase the efficiency of TRSSC operations.
