New support option for families in Ukraine
Parents in Ukraine now have a fresh way to access government support through the Diia digital platform: the childcare payment for children under one year old and the eYasla benefit can be placed in a dedicated Child Care account linked to the Diia Card. This change is intended to make receiving financial help simpler for young families.
Purpose-specific payments and assistance
The same Child Care account can also be used for targeted benefits, such as:
- Baby Box
- School Student Box
The scheme is being carried out by Ukraine's Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, in cooperation with partner banks.
The rollout is happening under the EGAP Program, implemented by the Eastern Europe Foundation with support from Switzerland. As a result, parents gain additional options when it comes to providing for their children.
This initiative marks a meaningful advance in social services for young households in Ukraine.
A dedicated account for benefit payments has the potential to greatly simplify financial processes, which in turn could contribute to a better quality of life for families with children. The project also highlights the importance of collaboration between state institutions and the private sector in delivering social support.
