In 2026, some Ukrainians will be able to take advantage of the right to early retirement by age. The list of categories is defined by the Law of Ukraine on 'Mandatory State Pension Insurance' and clarified by the Pension Fund. This is reported by Kadrovik-01.

It concerns several groups of citizens for whom special conditions regarding age and insurance experience are provided.

Early retirement in 2026: who has special status

The right to retire before the established age is granted to:

  • combatants, individuals with disabilities due to war, family members of deceased defenders of Ukraine – after 55 years for men and 50 years for women, with at least 25 and 20 years of insurance experience, respectively;

  • mothers of many children (five or more children), mothers of children with disabilities from childhood or severely ill children – after 50 years, provided that the child is raised until the age of 6 and has at least 15 years of experience.

By the mother's choice or if she is absent, this right can be granted to the father – after 55 years and with at least 20 years of insurance experience.

A separate provision applies to individuals who were dismissed no later than one and a half years before reaching the retirement age due to:

  • liquidation or reorganization of the enterprise;

  • staff reduction;

  • incompatibility with the position due to health reasons.

In this case, it is necessary to register with the employment service within 30 days after dismissal and have sufficient insurance experience – 35 years for men and 30 years for women.

Right to early retirement due to health reasons

Early pension provision is also provided for individuals with certain diseases:

  • men with hypopituitarism – after 45 years, women – after 40 years with at least 20 and 15 years of experience, respectively;

  • individuals with first group visual disabilities and individuals with first group disabilities from childhood – after 50 years for men and 40 years for women with at least 15 and 10 years of insurance experience.

The Pension Fund emphasizes: the key condition remains the confirmed insurance experience at the time of application.
