The Issue of Men Aged 18-22 Leaving the Country
The resolution of the issue regarding the departure of young men aged 18 to 22 abroad depends on the officer at the control checkpoint.
As reported by 'Hvylya', lawyer Serhiy Starenkyi discussed this on the air of Kyiv-24.
According to him, the border guard can still deny crossing the border and explain this with certain motives.
The lawyer explained that, although such a decision can be appealed in court, this process takes a while and often does not lead to results due to legal complexities. In case of refusal, young men will be obliged to stay registered for military service.
Documents for Leaving the Country
The lawyer also emphasized the importance of having the proper documents for leaving the country. A passport and military ID are mandatory requirements for obtaining permission to cross the border.
'The right to leave does not exempt from the constitutional duty - to defend one's country and comply with legislation regarding military registration. Therefore, young people must provide their data to the military recruitment center and have documents confirming their registration on the unified military record,' the lawyer emphasized.
Thus, having the appropriate documents and up-to-date military registration data can help avoid denial of entry abroad if all requirements are properly met.
The presented article reminds of the importance of having the correct documents and complying with all legal requirements for leaving the country, especially for men aged 18-22. It discusses the possible denial of exit and the process of appealing such a ruling in court. It is emphasized that the correctness of documents and the relevance of military registration can resolve potential problems with crossing the border.
