Children can leave the country without notarized consent: new rules of the State Border Guard Service

Діти можуть виїжджати за межі країни без нотаріального дозволу: нововведення Державної прикордонної служби.

During martial law, Ukrainian children can cross the border under simplified rules. Children under 16 can leave the country independently with a passport, accompanied by parents or other persons with appropriate consent. A notarized consent from the second parent or mother is not required if the child is traveling with relatives. In the case of being accompanied by third parties, a written consent from one of the parents, certified by a guardianship authority, is necessary.

When crossing the border, border guards check documents such as a birth certificate, a Ukrainian citizen's passport for traveling abroad, and other documents that confirm family ties. Biometric control has been implemented at the borders of the European Union.

Thus, during martial law, Ukrainian children can leave the country under simplified rules that facilitate their transport to safe regions or to other countries.
